Naalya is located approximately 12.5 kilometers by road, northeast of Kampala’s central business district and is one of the most popular middle class residential neighborhoods in Kampala with high-rise apartment complexes and modest residential bungalows. There are numerous access routes from Kampala through the Kampala/Jinja Highway, or the Northern Bypass Highway proceeding eastwards through Bukoto/Kiwatule.

It is a well-developed neighborhood with established commercial developments such as highways, supermarkets, hospitals, schools and shopping malls like Metroplex, one of the largest
shopping complexes in Uganda.
